Gallery opening at the NCCIL

The National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) will be opening a new exhibit on October 6. It will be the original art of Denise Fleming, a Caldecott award winning artist. Ms. Fleming will be at the opening.

On Thursday evening, the NCCIL will host a reception for Ms. Fleming followed by a short gallery talk. Copies of her books will be for sale. Everyone is invited to attend. The reception begins at 6:30 PM.

The NCCIL is located in downtown Abilene, just a few blocks from the Civic Plaza Hotel and the Civic Center. If an eight-block walk is your kind of fun, you can walk to and from. If it's not, tell the folks at the registration desk when you arrive, and transportation can be arranged!
