For Texas libraries that are in the TexShare program, how do you indicate TexShare cardholders in Workflows?  We will be requiring non-residents to get one of our library cards, so I'm mostly looking for ideas on how to add information to a resident's record when they get a TexShare card to use at other libraries.  We thought of putting a comment on their record, but would really like something that would be searchable for gathering statistics.  How does everyone else (in the TexShare program) handle this?

Just a few notes-I have not been trained to do API, so I'm limited to the available reports.  We are using Symphony 3.3.

We use a distinct user profile for TexShare users. Reports then list
bills, count loans, etc.

Oops, I misunderstood. If you want to count how many texshare cards you
give to your registered users to use at other libraries, you could just
charge and discharge a unique item type "texsharecard" to the specific
users or to a generic user.

Here at LSU in Baton Rouge, we participate in a similar program called LALINC. If a member of our institution is issued a card, we make a note in the User Category 2 field. If someone from another institution presents a LALINC card in order to get borrowing privileges, we create a record in the system and give him a temporary card. LALINC card holders are given a user profile of LALINC (as opposed to DONOR or OTHER.) That way we can run reports on both groups and keep them separate in the system.
